What you'll do:

The Financial Risk Management Group (FRM) provides independent risk oversight of the Company’s Treasury and Mortgage Capital Markets activities. This role within FRM focuses specifically on Investment Portfolio, Mortgage Servicing Rights and Loans Held for Sale exposures. The team facilitates effective use of risk appetite to monitor and assess risk-taking activities. The group also plays a key role in keeping senior management appraised of the Company’s financial risk profile. This is achieved by using risk measures, proactive application of expert judgement, and limit setting. Activities are centered on risk management and analysis, transparency and escalation of risk, and overall process improvement.
As a Senior Capital Markets and Investment Portfolio Risk Analyst, you will serve as a key contributor in monitoring market, liquidity and capital risks associated with the Company’s investment securities and mortgage asset exposures. The position partners extensively with Treasury and Mortgage Capital Markets to evaluate risk exposures, challenge assumptions, assess emerging risks, and strengthen the firm’s overall risk governance framework. This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical background who is looking to develop their expertise in financial risk management.
  • Independently review risk exposures within the investment securities, mortgage servicing asset, and loans held for sale portfolios. Monitor portfolio composition and risk measures including duration, convexity, market value sensitivity, unrealized gain/loss positions, asset yields, valuation risk, and hedge effectiveness.
  • Monitor and assess hedging strategies and asset portfolio performance under various market conditions including interest rate, spread, liquidity stress scenarios.
  • Review and validate management assumptions, model outputs, and stress testing used to support risk decisions.
  • Evaluate emerging market developments and their impact on asset performance and risk exposures.
  • Produce and enhance risk reporting delivered to executive management and governance committees.  Identify portfolio trends, emerging risks, limit concerns, and material market developments requiring management attention.
  • Monitor adherence to Board-approved risk limits and regulatory requirements.
  • Build effective relationships across Treasury and Mortgage Capital Markets teams to gather data and support risk oversight activities.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field; CFA/FRM preferred.
  • 4+ years in Asset Liability Management, investment portfolio oversight, Mortgage Capital Markets, or related field with a strong focus on analytics.
  • Familiarity with fixed income securities, derivatives, and/or hedging instruments.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management principles.
  • Strong understanding of second line of defense principles.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $115,915.00 - $143,185.00 for Las Vegas, NV. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
