What You'll Do:

The Capacity Planning Organization at CoreWeave is responsible for ensuring our global datacenter infrastructure is optimized for scalability, efficiency, and reliability. This team plays a critical role in supporting the rapid growth of our cloud platform by forecasting and planning datacenter capacity—space, power, and cooling—on a scale unmatched by most. If you’re excited about solving complex infrastructure challenges and driving strategic decisions, this is the team to join.

About The Role:

As a Senior Capacity Planner, Datacenter Space & Power, you will be at the heart of our infrastructure planning, ensuring that our datacenters are equipped to meet the demands of our expanding cloud business. You’ll work closely with datacenter operations, network, and compute planning teams to align infrastructure deployments with power and space availability. Your day will involve building and maintaining complex capacity models, performing scenario analysis, and driving automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

In This Role You Will:

  • Develop and maintain complex capacity models for future datacenter space and power deployment planning, incorporating all physical capacity limits.
  • Perform scenario analysis to advise on infrastructure projects and optimize capacity utilization.
  • Analyze power and cooling utilization trends, identify inefficiencies, and recommend optimizations to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Support site selection, expansion, and build-out strategies by evaluating datacenter infrastructure capabilities and constraints.
  • Work closely with datacenter operations, network, and compute planning teams to align infrastructure deployments with power and space availability.
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards for real-time visibility into capacity utilization and manage space and power capacity.
  • Apply data analysis to inform strategic business decisions, prioritizing operational trade-offs and capital spend.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and tooling teams to drive automation initiatives to improve capacity planning and operational efficiencies.
  • Analyze how datacenter infrastructure and design changes impact capacity and provide feedback to teams and upper management.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Delivery, and Datacenter teams to execute and minimize risks on hardware deployment plans across all data centers.

Who You Are:

  • Minimum 7–9 years of prior experience in datacenter capacity planning, infrastructure planning, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of datacenter power distribution (UPS, PDUs, generators, redundancy levels), cooling systems, and space planning.
  • Understanding of server, storage, and networking hardware and their impact on datacenter resource utilization.
  • Experience managing large data structures (Excel, SQL, Looker/Tableau) to build reports and run analysis.
  • Ability to make recommendations in ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with cross-functional teams to coordinate operations and activities between departments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Interest in creating and streamlining processes.
  • Familiarity with DCIM (Datacenter Infrastructure Management) tools and automation frameworks preferred.

Wondering if you’re a good fit? We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams – even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match. Here are a few qualities we’ve found compatible with our team. If some of this describes you, we’d love to talk.

  • You’re curious about solving complex infrastructure challenges and enjoy working on new problems.
  • You have love problem-solving with a proactive and strategic mindset.
