About the role
At Stryker, we develop software for the design and manufacturing of patient-specific medical devices. Our system separates
product-specific application logic
from a dedicated
core geometry library which provides the algorithmic foundation for geometry processing and computational geometry acrossour products.
We are looking for a C++ developer with a strong focus on geometry processing to strengthen ourgeometry capabilities.
You will help us improve and scale our platform while also enabling product teams to build geometry-driven features more efficiently.
What you will do
- Implement geometry-related features in our C++ stack
- Support the maintenance and evolution of our central geometry library
- Contribute to geometry-heavy features across our core library and support the direct integration intoour design applications
- Help unblock development by providing high-quality code reviews
- Work with triangle meshes and geometric algorithms (e.g. refinement, simplification, smoothing, repairing, boolean ops, measurements, conversions, …)
- Collaborate closely with other developers across product teams
What you bring
- Professional experience in modern C++ (ideally C++20)
- Strong understanding of geometry processing and triangle mesh algorithms
- Solid experience with Eigen
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- Experience working in larger codebases
- Background in
- Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar
Nice to have
Experience with:
- Geometry libraries (e.g. OpenMesh, libigl, CDT, Manifold)
- CAD / CAM workflows and concepts
- Web deployment of C++ (e.g. Emscripten)
- JavaScript / TypeScript web development, ideally with experience in browser-based 3Dvisualization
- Rust experience to complement our C++ tech stack where appropriate
Our tech stack
- C++20
- Eigen, Boost, CDT, manifold
- CMake, Conan, GitLab CI
- Emscripten
What we are looking for
- Mid-level or senior candidates who can contribute with limited onboarding
- Engineers who combine strong problem-solving skills with hands-on implementation ability
- People who bring ownership, speed, and a structured approach to complex problems
- A strong team fit and proactive communication style
Not a Fit if
- You have no professional experience with C++
- You are not familiar with core geometry concepts (e.g. triangle mesh processing)
- You require a highly guided environment with little autonomy
- You do not actively contribute to team collaboration
What success looks like (after ~6 months)
- You deliver your first successful merge requests (MRs)
- You actively contribute to code reviews and improve code quality
- You independently implement smaller backend / geometry features
- You support the team in maintaining and improving GeometryCore
- You contribute meaningfully to geometry-related discussions
