Summary

The Senior Business Systems Analyst will manage the systems requirements process as well as the user acceptance testing process to verify that requirements and business objectives successfully meet the documented requirements. This position writes test plans, engages with business users to determine if the delivered functionality satisfies the requirements, and works with development with resolve identified issues.  This role assists in all facets of the systems development lifecycle as necessary.  The Senior Business Systems Analyst assists team in data management activities.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop technical requirements and specifications.
  • Develops user acceptance test plans by analyzing business requirements and engaging with project team members and subject matter experts as necessary.
  • Manages user acceptance testing process with business users, identifying the testing team and setting up a testing schedule.
  • Tests functionality alongside business subject matter experts and on own in order to test the delivered functionality in real-world scenarios.
  • Tracks issues uncovered during testing.
  • Collaborates with external and internal development teams to address issues found during UAT, and validates that corrective actions taken by development resolve those issues.
  • Supports activities throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Communicates status of UAT activities to project teams and IT and business leadership.
  • Collaborates with and supports portfolio manager, business representatives and developers during the requirements elicitation process.
  • Supports the development of the business analysis and solution design team, including participating in the creation and implementation of templates and improvement of the relevant sections of the development life cycle.
  • Supports the prioritization process through initial sizing and costing of systems projects.
  • Assist team in the execution of data management activities – develop process improvements, data analysis using reporting tools, conduct periodic audits and data maintenance, interact with teams to obtain data requirements for new and existing applications, dashboards and reports.

Experience requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience with operational processes, business requirements and UAT support.
  • Analysis/design skills including ability to gather data on systems issues, define alternate approaches, assess business impact, recommend cost effective solutions, and develop and implement those solutions.
  • Project management skills, ability to develop and monitor work agreements and budgets, and to determine specifications, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for consulting with users to understand needs, define requirements, and provide effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of current technologies, tools, applications, and vendors.
  • Ability to cultivate cross-functional relationships, including contact with clients, vendors and co-workers.

Education requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preffered, but will consider professional experience in lieu of a degree.

Compensation:  

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $100,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $130,000/year in our highest geographic market.  Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
