NEP is building its intelligence capability for unscripted television and entertainment across Europe. As Senior Business & Market Intelligence Analyst, you will connect market insight on formats, commissioning and audiences with NEP’s data on clients, opportunities, projects and financial performance. Your analysis will help leaders identify growth opportunities, strengthen account planning and make informed commercial decisions.
Your impact will come from the decisions and opportunities your insight helps shape.
What will you do as Senior Business & Market Intelligence Analyst? Market and format intelligence- Build a European overview of unscripted formats, from development and commissioning through broadcast, renewal or cancellation. Track original IP, local adaptations, commissioners, platforms, format owners, distributors and production companies.
- Analyse programme performance and trends across genres, using audience, demographic, scheduling, channel and streaming data.
- Assess which formats are likely to travel and where upcoming productions may fit NEP’s studios, multicamera, remote production, post-production, media management and distribution services.
- Connect CRM pipeline information with project, revenue, margin, booking and utilisation data to understand NEP’s activity across clients, markets and service lines.
- Identify opportunities to grow client relationships, cross-sell services and enter new markets, as well as clients that may be at risk. Maintain a prioritised European target-account and opportunity list.
- Support account planning, bids, tenders, client meetings and investment decisions with relevant analysis, client information and recommended next steps.
- Deliver weekly opportunity alerts, monthly dashboards and a quarterly European Unscripted Growth Review. Provide market insight for annual strategy, budgeting and forecasting.
- Turn analysis into recommendations on sales priorities, capacity, facilities, technology investment and market entry. Track opportunities through the pipeline to wins, revenue and margin.
- Own the definitions and data standards for formats, clients, markets and NEP service lines. Help maintain and develop a reliable database connecting external market data with NEP’s internal information, and work with colleagues to improve data quality and automate reporting.
- Maintain reliable data sources and ensure external data and personal information are handled in line with subscription terms and NEP’s privacy requirements.
- Around five years’ experience in business intelligence, market research, commercial analysis or strategy, ideally in television, media production, broadcasting, streaming or content distribution.
- A strong understanding of the television commissioning and production lifecycle, and the ability to interpret audience and streaming data with its limitations in mind.
- Advanced Power BI or Tableau and Excel skills, plus practical SQL and data-modelling experience.
- Experience working with CRM, finance and project data, for example in Dynamics 365 or Salesforce.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to turn data and market knowledge into clear recommendations, considering revenue, margin, pipeline, win rate and capacity.
- A curious, structured and collaborative approach. You communicate clearly, are comfortable challenging assumptions and can work with senior stakeholders across Europe.
- Excellent written and spoken English. Dutch or another European language is an advantage.
- Teams use and trust your dashboards, and priority clients, formats and opportunities are covered by reliable data.
- Your analysis leads to owned commercial actions and demonstrably informs pipeline, forecasts and decisions, including decisions about paid intelligence subscriptions.
- A challenging and varied role in an international broadcast environment;
- Room for your own ideas and personal development;
- An inspiring working environment where no two days are the same and where you contribute, directly or indirectly, to exciting productions at locations most people do not get to visit;
- Events that bring everyone together, such as a summer barbecue, monthly themed drinks, a Family & Friends Day, a Sinterklaas celebration, an end-of-year party and sporting activities such as the Media Football Tournament and Mud Masters.
- A contract for 40 hours per week;
- A salary based on your role and experience;
- 25 days of annual leave based on full-time employment;
- Travel allowance or an NS public transport season ticket;
- Pension scheme with shared contributions;
