Job Summary

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst uses information to promote revenue creation, enhance operational efficiency, improve the customer experience, and contribute to a more informed organization. 

What You'll Do

  • Contributes to the acquisition, organization and utilization of data that is used to assist the organization in making better decisions, faster.

  • Provides internal customer service to support other organizational functions and proactively provides analysis and insight that leads to enhanced solutions.

  • Facilitates the communication of results and activities using concise, accessible, and actionable reporting tools. 

  • Assists the business with the creation of customer facing reports, analysis, and projections.

  • Solves complex problems using analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Uses technology resources to develop, modify and update data warehouse infrastructure as appropriate.

  • Serves as a mentor to other team members; especially as it relates to utilization of analytics techniques and reporting tools.

  • Serve as liaison with IT to build and enhance the data warehouse.

  • Implement new data analysis methodologies.

  • Takes ownership of data and is inwardly propelled to understand events both from data and metadata as well as clearly communicate the story of that data

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Information Management, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or related

  • 5+ years’ experience in data analysis

  • Experience using technology platforms to deliver data and analysis to users

  • Experience using dashboard and reporting tools to present data to management.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Inquisitive nature. Has the ability to self-teach new business methodology and new technologies.

  • Ability to transform data into knowledge and communicate findings to executive leadership.

  • Familiarity with Insurance, Retirement, and/or Investments.

Technology Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of SQL: ability to create queries over complex data warehouses, create procedures to mine data from source systems, create processes to aggregate data from multiple systems.

  • Microsoft Excel: expert excel knowledge. Uses excel for reporting, analysis, projections, and predictions.

  • Advanced Power BI: ability to create models, load data from multiple different sources, develop easy to use and intuitive reports, and creating processes to advance the team’s knowledge and usage of Power BI.  

  • SQL Server Reporting Services: Create, tune, distribute and manage reports.
