Role Summary
The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and quantifying market opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, this role combines commercial strategy, financial analysis, and market intelligence to develop data-driven growth plans across all trade channels.
The primary focus is to assess the total market potential, segment the market by outlet type, customer profile, geography, and channel, and translate these insights into actionable commercial strategies. Working closely with Sales and Marketing, the role supports strategic decision-making, resource allocation, and route-to-market optimization.

- Market Potential
- Analyse market size, outlet universe, consumer trends, competitor activity, and category performance to identify growth opportunities across all sales channels.
- Segment the market by outlet type, channel, geography, customer profile, and sales potential to optimize commercial/ marketing investment.
- Recommend channel and outlet prioritization based on market potential and profitability.
- Provide commercial and financial analysis to support route-to-market decisions.
- Develop channel-specific growth strategies.
- Business Development
- Develop business cases for new market entry and distribution/numeric distribution expansion.
- Support commercial negotiations by providing financial analysis and profitability assessments.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and recommend initiatives that maximize return on investment.
- Reporting & Business Insights
- Develop dashboards and management reports to monitor market performance and strategic KPIs.
- Present commercial insights, growth opportunities, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications & Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 10-12 years of experience in Commercial Finance, Business Development, Commercial Strategy, Revenue Growth Management, or Sales Planning within the FMCG industry.
- Strong experience in market sizing, outlet segmentation, financial modelling, and commercial analytics.
- Experience working with distributor-led business models and multi-channel sales environments.
