What will you do as Sr. Business Controller?

As Senior Business Controller, you are going to be a member of the Finance & Business Control team of BU NL, consisting of a team of controllers. As a Senior Business Controller you act as a business partner to the organization. Leading a dedicated team of business controllers (2 FTE). You take improvement initiatives and act as a sparring partner to the Manager Finance & Business Control BU NL. You will contribute to finance activities for the BU NL holding entities and joint ventures, including governance, reporting and advising on financial matters.

.What do we expect?

• A Master degree (or in the process of completing such degree) in Finance, Business Administration or a related subject preferably combined with a professional qualification in the finance & control area (e.g. CPA, CMA, RA, RC);

• A minimum of 5 to 8 years of pertinent professional experience.

• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and spoken;

• Proven experience with financial and management reporting processes, preferably Joint Venture accounting;

• Experienced with budget preparation and forecasting processes;

• Skilled in analyzing and comparing various financial scenarios;

• A keen interest in data analytics.

• Strong analytical mind and continuously strive for improvement;

• Able to organize data clearly and translate it into relevant management information;

• Team player, good problem solving skills.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

• Managing the planning and reporting cycle of Finance and Control aspects (including tax, treasury, insurances, sustainability and audit);

• Involvement in financial review, reporting and governance of holding entities that are part of the Business Unit Netherlands.

• Involvement in financial review, reporting and governance of all Joint Ventures in the Netherlands;

• Financial Reporting: Monitor compliance with financial reporting standards, lead the preparation of the statutory annual accounts. Act as a key point of contact for the financial shared services organization and work with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit. 

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, coordinate forecasting, and ensure timely reporting.

• Risk Management: Oversee internal controls, ensure compliance with policies, and coordinate risk management activities. Driving the identification of key (finance) business risks and opportunities and translating these into business process improvement and/or value creation initiatives as needed. 

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of business controllers, fostering a high-performance culture.

• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with various stakeholders to align financial goals with business objectives.
