Position Summary

MIRACORP is seeking an experienced Senior Budget Analyst (Specialist) to provide budget, financial, resource management, data analytics, and executive reporting support This position supports budget execution, financial reporting, staffing and funding analysis, resource planning, portfolio management, dashboard development, and organizational decision making


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support budget execution, monitoring, reconciliation, forecasting, and closeout
  • Track commitments, obligations, expenditures, available balances, and funding utilization
  • Develop spending plans, resource projections, and funding recommendations
  • Analyze financial performance, budget variances, execution rates, and funding risks
  • Conduct staffing, personnel cost, vacancy, and operational resource analyses
  • Support portfolio planning and monitor funding, performance measures, and milestones
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
  • Coordinate data calls and validate, reconcile, and consolidate financial and operational information
  • Develop workflow, workload, productivity, and performance metrics
  • Prepare executive reports, briefings, forecasts, and decision support materials
  • Maintain accurate, audit ready financial and reporting documentation
  • Recommend improvements to budget processes, reporting workflows, dashboards, and data quality
Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, data analytics, public administration, or a related field
  • 710 years of progressively responsible experience in budget analysis, financial management, resource planning, or operational analytics
  • Experience with budget execution, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analysis, and staffing or funding analysis
  • Experience developing executive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations
  • Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable reporting tools
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required federal suitability determination or security clearance

Preferred Requirements

  • Federal government or government contracting experience
  • Knowledge of federal budgeting, appropriations, and financial management processes
  • Experience with federal finance, budget, staffing, or portfolio management systems
  • Relevant certification, such as CGFM, CDFM, PMP, Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst, or Tableau certification
