Founded in 1883 in Belgium, Cote d'Or is the leading chocolate brand in Belgium and number 4 chocolate brand in the Netherlands known for its distinctive taste, iconic elephant symbol and communication campaigns, and quality ingredients. The brand combines strong local heritage with global expertise and innovation as part of Mondelez International.
The Marketing Manager, reporting directly to the Marketing Director Benelux is responsible for brand growth in both Belgium and the Netherlands through an exciting set of responsibilities:
- Category & Consumer insights: Analyze market data to monitor category and brand dynamics. Leverage consumer research to identify emerging needs and opportunities. Translate insights into actionable brand and category initiatives.
- Brand and Portfolio Strategy & planning: Developing and executing the annual brand plan aligned with regional strategy and local market dynamics. Defining clear brand positioning and growth drivers. Leading portfolio strategy and managing brand P&L, forecasting and budget allocation.
- Communication & Activation planning: Lead integrated marketing campaigns (digital & social, TV, OOH, instore, etc.). Adapt regional campaigns for local relevance. Brief and manage creative, media and digital agencies. Track and optimize campaign performance (ROI, Brand KPI's, awareness, consideration, penetration).
- Innovation & product launches: Identify growth opportunities based on consumer insights and market trends. Lead end-to-end product launches. Collaborate with R&D, supply chain, and sales to ensure successful commercialization.
- People & Organizational leadership: Lead a team of 6 senior and junior marketing professionals with focus on strong talent and performance management. Partner with multifunctional teams to drive best-in-class execution of brand and portfolio strategy. Impact and influence Mondelez Benelux culture by contributing to the Marketing and extended Benelux Leadership team.
The Marketing Manager is responsible for market share growth, Net Revenue & margin performance, Brand equity metrics, campaign ROI, successful innovation rate, distribution & instore execution quality.

Education / Certifications:
- Master's Degree, preferably in Marketing, Business Administration or related field
- Min. 8-10 years of FMCG brand marketing experience, experience managing localized brands preferred
Job specific requirements:
- Proven track record in brand and portfolio strategy, equity & innovation development
- Local Benelux market knowledge and experience preferred
Travel requirements:
- Based in Mechelen or Breda, with regular travel to other location (30-40% of time)
