This is a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-dive-in senior individual contributor role for an experienced writer and content strategist. You’ll have the opportunity to help build a category-defining brand, develop messaging strategies for key brand storylines, create copy and content that delivers results, and work across a variety of media. This role is perfect for someone energized by the opportunity to work at a variety of altitudesboth strategizing and executing on contentand by the opportunity to learn and communicate new content areas regularly.  

 

What you will do  

  • Concept, strategize, write, and/or edit copy, and collaborate with internal and external design and web to produce high-visibility deliverables across a range of mediums, including speeches, scripts, talk tracks, web content, digital and print ads, social content, PowerPoint decks, infographics, event collateral, and more. 

  • Develop messaging and content for a set of key brand storylines and apply it to core internal and external resources (messaging frameworks, webpages, core PowerPoint slides, etc.), assessing performance and updating regularly. 

  • Act as a steward for Blackbaud’s brand voice across the company, contributing to brand guidelines and generative AI tools to scale consistent voice and effective copy. (Given how new these generative AI tools are, you may not yet have experience with them, but you need to be excited about testing and using new technology to scale brand stewardship.) 

  • Facilitate content development processes, soliciting input from a variety of subject matter experts to create effective content strategies and draft winning content on brand-level themes. 

  • Partner with the digital and marketing sciences team to validate digital copy with real users, review data from assets, and optimize copy for performance. 

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Blackbaud’s brand positioning and messaging, vertical-level messaging, and product-specific messaging to coach other content creators (both internal and external freelancers) on effective copy. 

What you will bring: 

  • 6+ years of experience as a copywriter, ideally including experience in the B2B software space, whether in-house or at an agency. 

  • Experience with conversion copywriting and examples of how your digital copy has delivered measurable conversion results.  

  • Experience with scripting to meet specific business objectives. 

  • Developing or contributing to brand guidelines. 

  • Passion for the social impact/nonprofit space is a non-negotiable, and direct experience in the space is a bonus. 

  • A self-starter who can navigate ambiguity comfortably and work entrepreneurially to get the information you need to produce top-notch deliverables.  

  • Organized, and comfortable using Asana to stay on top of your priorities. (It’s fine if you’ve never used Asana before, but you must be comfortable using project management tools, which are very important to our collaborative process as a remote-first team.)  

  • Able to receive feedback openly and invite collaboration with a blend of confidence, curiosity, and non-defensiveness. 

  • Energized by working on different projects at different altitudes – you are able to context-switch quickly and balance multiple concurrent projects, and comfortable with both strategy and execution.

The starting base pay is $87,700.00 to $114,200.00. Blackbaud may pay more or less based on employee qualifications, market value, Company finances, and other operational considerations.
