ScaleBio has recently launched the first commercial Single Cell Methylation assay, capturing whole-genome methylation data from thousands of cells. We are looking for a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to help develop the analysis tools needed to realize the potential of this new technology. You will be a technical expert in single cell data analysis within a multidisciplinary team from molecular biologists to software developers. We are looking for someone with experience developing analysis tools, who is excited to take a new technology all the way to a suite of products; from early research prototypes to robust software that can scale to unprecedented numbers of samples and cells. 

What You'll Do:

• Design and implement analysis software for ScaleBio single cell methods, enabling a wide range of researchers to make full use of new data types.
• Represent bioinformatics in interdisciplinary teams developing novel single-cell assays and advance product development. 
• Develop algorithms, models, and visualizations for huge methylation and multi-omic single-cell datasets.
• Collaborate with external researchers on analyses to demonstrate novel applications for ScaleBio technologies.
• Identify creative solutions to problems and actively participate in improving methods from the lab, through analysis to the final scientific applications.
• Present projects and results to the team, customers, and the wider scientific community.

About You:

• Ph.D. in computational biology, computer science, or related discipline; or a Master's with 4+ years professional experience with genomic technology.
• Experience with single-cell sequencing technology and analysis methods. 
• Experience analyzing complex sequencing datasets, including gene expression or epigenetics.
• A track record of designing and implementing novel algorithms and analysis workflows.
• Experience developing software, both in scripting and compiled languages. 
• Background in statistical and machine-learning methods for large datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to become an expert in new fields and work with interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills, with scientists and nonscientists.

Nice to have:

• Experience with whole-genome methylation data.
• Experience with professional software development methods.
• Experience working with cloud computing environments.
• Experience developing novel sequencing-based technologies in an interdisciplinary team.

Below is the salary range for this full time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, and experience.

Base Salary Range - $125,000 - $160,000 USD
