Job Title/High-Level Position Summary:

In the Senior BI Enterprise Data Analyst role you should have experience and a desire to work on defining & analyzing complex projects and tasks.  You are someone with a drive to implement the best possible technical solutions while partnering with the business and technical teams to assure collaboration and alignment. You want to lead projects from a data engineering perspective and partnering to model appropriate data landscapes with our business partners.  This position will apply advanced analytical & analysis techniques to a variety of business issues to drive value-based insights to meet cross-enterprise business strategies. This Senior position will proactively drive identifying, managing, and understanding the business challenges and opportunities faced by various business units including internal and external business functions and translate the business needs to technical needs. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage activities related to detailed requirements gathering, documentation and problem solving associated with complex, enterprise projects and issues
  • Translate business requirements and document technical specifications
  • Serve as liaison to business leaders on behalf of Enterprise BI & Analytics, managing expectations and ensuring BI solutions are meeting the needs of assigned projects while being SOX compliant
  • Own end-to-end complex data analysis and driving new/best practices
  • Size and scope development needs for complex business and technical project initiatives
  • Accurately identify and assess problems by asking the right questions of the right people 
    • Use advanced analytical problem-solving techniques to resolve issues and questions 
    • Define, retrieve, and analyze large datasets using SQL, Excel and other tools as needed to drive and define reporting and analytical solutions and approaches 
    • Determine, coordinate, analyze and document business processes
    • Support and drive Enterprise Data Governance Best Practices with business partners
    • Present findings to team members determining and communicating options, making recommendations and driving quick solutions
    • Lead & manage user acceptance testing across business and other technical teams
    • Work with offshore & vendor partners as an extension of team in directing work and clarifying questions
    • Work closely with the BI Data Platform Team when building new data sets and data source integrations as necessary, driving collaboration and completion
  • Collaborate with other teams to map data fields to prepare data for use in complex analytics/reporting
  • Ability and desire to wear multiple hats -performing in multiple capacities (leadership, analysis, technical, visualization design, etc.)
  • Proactively staying on top of technologies and bringing new technical solutions to the table to drive efficiencies and automation for team, processes and cost reductions
    • All other tasks/functions as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Basic Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or similar or associated work experience) required
  • 8+ years of hands-on functional and technical analysis (in EDW environment is ideal)
  • 5+ years developing, driving & performing complex QA
  • 3+ years driving complex projects to completion
  • Demonstrated experience performing analysis on large, structured & unstructured complex datasets
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex analytical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Strong intellectual curiosity: a willingness to ask questions and learn from others
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience & ability to wear multiple hats 
  • Strong interpersonal skills – clear & timely communications, positive problem-solving perspectives, excellent written & verbal skills, communications at all levels
  • Proven ability as an owner/leader within a collaborative team
  • A desire to be part of a team and working with others from diverse skill sets and backgrounds
  • A deep personal motivation to always produce outstanding work
  • Experience with Oracle EBS a plus
  • Experience managing EDW projects a plus
