About role:
Senior Batch Specialist
Key Expectations
- Configure, test, and maintain Alight’s proprietary Total Benefit Administration™ (TBA) system to support client requirements
- Deliver accurate analysis and test plans for low to medium complexity projects
- Ensure smooth batch operations post-implementation and ongoing system stability
- Support and monitor automated production jobs, addressing failures and ensuring smooth execution.
- Mentor and coach new hires on batch configuration and test execution
- Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance while meeting delivery timelines
- Collaborate effectively with global teams and proactively communicate status and risks
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of US Benefits Domain (Health Management / Defined Benefits
/ Defined Contributions)
- Hands-on experience with:
- SQL (intermediate level)
- SAS programming
- Batch processing concepts
- System analysis and testing (Unit & Integration)
- Understanding of:
- SDLC principles
- Relational database concepts (tables, keys, queries)
- Data flows and batch processing logic
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot system and code issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills

Role Description
The Senior Batch Specialist is responsible for configuring, testing, and maintaining Alight’s Total Benefit Administration™ (TBA) system. The role involves delivering accurate analysis and test plans that reflect technical data extraction and coding requirements aligned with client needs.
This position works closely with client delivery teams to build and sustain a comprehensive system platform supporting all client requirements. Post-implementation; the role ensures batch operations run smoothly and remain current.
In addition to technical responsibilities, the Senior Batch Specialist plays a key role in coaching and mentoring new associates, contributing to quality management, shared services support, and effective communication across teams.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Production Support, Documentation & Ongoing Task Management – 65%
- Quality Management & Testing – 10%

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, or equivalent analytical discipline
- B.Tech / BCA / MCA preferred
Experience
- Prior experience with Alight / Aon / Wipro is an added advantage
