The RoleAs a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer on the Work Automation team, you will play a key role in designing and delivering high-quality, scalable software that powers core product capabilities across our roadmap. You’ll work in an agile, highly collaborative environment and take ownership of features from design through to production and beyond.
Our teams are truly full stack, delivering capabilities across frontend, backend, eventing, and storage layers. We build cloud-native, microservices-based solutions designed for scale, reliability, and security. As a senior engineer, you will help shape technical direction, influence design decisions, and raise the overall quality bar within the team.
Genesys Software Engineers think deeply about performance, scalability, security, and usability. We primarily develop in Java and Python, and build on a broad range of AWS cloud technologies.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain high-quality, efficient, and testable software across the full technology stack.
Own features end to end, delivering through the full lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
Contribute to and influence the overall system architecture and the wider product ecosystem.
Participate actively in code and design reviews, promoting best practices and high engineering standards.
Mentor and support other engineers, helping them grow and reach their full potential.
Drive improvements in team efficiency, quality, and delivery velocity.
Ensure best practices are followed for data security, traceability, and information sharing.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s degree is a plus).
4+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering.
Strong programming expertise in Java, with working knowledge of Python.
Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design principles.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.
A proactive, self-driven mindset with strong ownership and a passion for continuous improvement.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a globally distributed team.
Experience building cloud-native applications, ideally on AWS.
Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems best practices.
Experience with Jenkins, Bitbucket, and related DevOps tooling.
Exposure to frontend technologies and modern UI frameworks is a plus.
