About the company
Our client builds automated systems that help restaurant operators recover revenue from delivery errors, refunds, and chargebacks. The product handles the full recovery workflow, from data ingestion and decisions through filing, tracking, and resolution. The team is looking for a senior engineer to build reliable systems that improve outcomes for restaurant customers.
The role
We are hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to build scalable services for automated restaurant revenue recovery. You will lead backend work in Java while contributing to customer-facing status and outcome experiences. This is a systems-focused role with meaningful ownership over architecture, uptime, experimentation, and the tools that help the business measure wins and dollars recovered.
What you'll do
• Build scalable Java backend services for data ingestion, decisioning, filing, tracking, and resolution workflows.
• Contribute to frontend status and outcome experiences that make the product’s work clear to customers.
• Design systems for reliable automation, integrations, and operational scale.
• Improve architecture, testing, observability, uptime, and system performance.
• Run experiments and build measurement that clarifies win rates and recovered revenue.
• Partner with product, data, operations, and support teams to deliver durable customer outcomes.

• Strong distributed-systems and system-design experience.
• A record of sustained ownership and follow-through in prior roles.
• Experience building, testing, and operating reliable production systems.
Bonus points
• Experience with automation, integrations, payment disputes, or revenue-recovery workflows.
• Full-stack experience, including customer-facing product surfaces.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and continuous delivery practices.
Benefits
Compensation and benefits
• Base salary of $167K to $230K, plus long-term incentive equity.

• Full-time position.
• Existing U.S. work authorization is required; H-1B transfers are supported.
