We’re looking for a backend engineer who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys building robust systems end-to-end. You’ll work across data pipelines, APIs and infrastructure, ensuring our platform runs efficiently and scales cleanly as we grow.

Your role

  • Develop and maintain backend features and APIs for our core platform

  • Improve database performance, reliability and real-time data processing

  • Debug, profile and optimise code to keep latency low and systems stable

  • Collaborate with AI, frontend and product teams to integrate new capabilities

  • Contribute to architectural decisions and shape the evolution of our backend stack

You are

  • 5-7 years’ experience building production-grade backends (Python is a must; additional experience in Go, C++, or Java is valuable)

  • Solid in SQL and data modelling (PostgreSQL or similar)

  • Experienced with REST APIs and cloud environments (AWS preferred)

  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of a problem

  • Startup mindset — quick to ship, focused on quality, allergic to bureaucracy

Nice to have

  • Linux debugging and performance tuning

  • Familiarity with orchestration (Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible)

  • Experience with data pipelines or analytical databases

  • Interest in edge/cloud hybrid architectures
