Senior Backend Engineer - Golang

In the Global Bank tribe, we are building the infrastructure and core services needed to provide our merchants with a digital bank account that allows them to be successful at doing what they love. Our goal is to become the most popular banking partner for small merchants globally by offering a high-quality banking experience tailored to small business needs - effortless, simple, and affordable.

As a , you will join a cross-functional squad who are responsible for the general banking payments events based flow. We are transitioning from a localized setup with regional banks to a unified Global Bank. One of the main challenges will be to support the migration from a monolithic structure to Golang microservices. 

• Design, implement microservices and event based processing architecture solutions.
• Maintain and evolve the team core services responsible for the general banking payments events based flow.
• Participate in API design and implementation for both internal APIs and those exposed to our third-party integrators.
• Build up a useful, robust automated test suite to support a Continuous Deployment environment
• Take ownership of the full platform, application code and the build pipeline we use to get it from conception to a live system.
• Support the migration from a PHP monolithic structure to Golang microservices
• Continuously improve our engineering culture by refining best practices, clarifying problems and opportunities, prototyping solutions, providing comprehensive documentation and selecting new tools and technologies.

• You have solid programming experience in Golang. 
• You have good knowledge of PostgreSQL and experience working with Kafka.
• You know how to build highly scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant services that support our growth requirements.
• You understand fundamental system architecture, design principles, data modeling, and API design (RESTful services).
• You have prior experience with modern cloud technologies (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Your are experienced with CI/CD products such as GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• You take pride in your work, have a keen sense of ownership, and are dedicated to writing clear, maintainable, and testable code.
• You’re a product-focused engineer who is passionate and curious about solving user challenges.

Any of the following would be considered a plus

• Experience with monitoring tools - Prometheus, Grafana, Honeycomb
• Experience in the fintech industry

Salary range: 5250 - 7500 Euro GROSS / month + VSOP
