Phoenix is a leading UK IT solutions and managed service provider, with a deep specialism in the public sector. We work with organisations across government, healthcare, defence, public safety, education, housing, and the charity sector - helping them modernise with confidence across cloud, data and AI, cyber security, and managed services.
Through strategic partnerships with the world's leading technology providers - and a trusted place on the major public sector frameworks - our work has a direct impact on the services that millions of people rely on every day.
Due to continued growth, we are hiring a new Senior Azure Consultant to lead the architecture, delivery and governance of Microsoft Azure solutions across a diverse customer portfolio. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong consultancy skills, enabling you to translate complex business requirements into secure, scalable and cost‑optimised Azure architectures.
What will you be doing?
- Lead the design and delivery of Azure solutions including landing zones, networking, security and core platform services.
- Produce high‑quality technical documentation including High‑Level Designs (HLDs) and Low‑Level Designs (LLDs).
- Architect Azure solutions for high availability, disaster recovery and multi‑region scalability.
- Deploy and configure Azure services including virtual networks, vWAN, ExpressRoute, VPNs, Azure Firewall, Bastion, NSGs, virtual machines and PaaS services.
- Lead or support on‑premises to Azure migration projects.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep and/or Terraform.
- Ensure all designs and deliveries align with Microsoft CAF, WAF and internal governance standards.
- Design and implement Zero Trust security architectures using Entra ID, RBAC and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
- Apply governance controls including Azure Policy, management groups, tagging and cost management strategies.
- Design and implement business continuity and disaster recovery solutions using Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery.
- Provide cost modelling, forecasting and optimisation recommendations, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans and Azure Hybrid Benefit.
- Lead customer workshops and discovery sessions, translating business objectives into effective technical solutions.
- Present architectures and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the full engagement lifecycle.
