We are looking for a Senior Autonomy Software Engineer to join our team. The goal of a Senior Autonomy Software Engineer at Wisk is to design, develop, and implement sophisticated models within our simulation environment. You will be part of the Autonomy Simulation team that builds and simulates crucial autonomy capabilities in the urban air mobility space.
In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing sophisticated models within our simulation environment. These models will support autonomy in urban air mobility, focusing on alliance systems, radar encounter generation, C2 link status, radar systems, and Ground-Based Tracking Systems (GBTS). This role is crucial for ensuring the robustness and reliability of our autonomous systems.
This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.
What you will do:
- Simulation Integration: Integrate models into the existing simulation framework, ensuring seamless operation and accurate representation of real-world scenarios.
- Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of models to ensure their accuracy and performance under various conditions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, systems engineers, and simulation specialists, to align model development with project goals.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for the models, including development processes, usage guidelines, and performance metrics.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest advancements in simulation technologies and incorporate relevant improvements into the models.
Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB. Experience with simulation tools and environments is a must.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex systems and develop accurate models that represent real-world scenarios.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
