The Role

Senior Automation Deployment Engineer (multiple positions)

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the deployment and delivery of automation operations projects related to the engineering and technical aspects of applications, systems, equipment, and infrastructure involved in port terminal product deployments.
  • Review the design, construction, and operation of highly efficient container terminals critical to APMT customers.
  • Oversee technical site works conducted by suppliers during installation, commissioning and delivering of automated equipment, systems, and applications.
  • Facilitate implementation of the given product(s) in the live terminal operations according to plan and without local business disruption.
  • Evaluate deployment-related business processes, process flows developed by product and process managers and will review product specification and requirements documents. Oversee contracted engineers and/or third-party vendors.
  • Collaborate with Product, Program and Quality Assurance team to ensure an integrated automation deployment approach.
  • Orchestrate terminals resources (human, equipment) to execute the project activities.
  • Request solution to action items from terminal project managers and address escalated concerns to terminal Senior Managers and Directors.
  • International and domestic travel required up to 50% of the time to other APM Terminals in North America and Latin America.

Working Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Salary: USD 120,000.00 to USD 140,000.00 per year

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related position in the Container Terminal and transportation industry, specifically on terminal operations systems.

Also requires two (2) or more years of experience in each:

  • Implementing, maintaining, supporting and upgrading Terminal Operating System ("TOS") Navis and its sub-systems.
  • Implementing of automated stacking cranes Systems (ARMG), OCR Systems for Ship to Shore Cranes (STS) and Rail Gantry Cranes (RGC), and Automated Gate Operating System (GOS) and its integrating with the TOS for container terminal technology projects.
  • Preparing technical documentation for user manuals and end-user regimens for terminal business and operations systems its subsystems interfaces.
  • Designing and implementing operational technology infrastructure for end-to-end terminal automation solutions control: from strategy and procedure development to testing and simulating of automation applications and integration with the TOS.
  • Creating iterative design, development, and testing cycles from end-to-end throughout the deployment of TOS, GOS, Crane Operations Systems for automation for terminal industrial equipment.
