The Senior Associate in HR Technology & Operations will manage and support programs and projects that transform the way we work at Bain Capital, leveraging our people systems, tools and business processes to deliver maximum value, quality data, and exceptional experiences for our people.
This role requires both a HR consultative/client-focused mindset and technical expertise as this team partners with the HR function to understand their needs, ideas and challenges, then translates them into technical solutions. It requires an understanding of HR programs, how the HR function is organized at Bain Capital and how HR supports the Bain Capital Business Units to best serve our clients.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This role will work on strategic HR projects, cyclical HR programs and business as usual system maintenance activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Strategic projects
- Participate in strategic HR technology projects on our roadmap – both Workday and non-Workday projects. Gather business requirements, design solutions, configure, deploy, and change management activities.
- Liaise with internal HR teams and external technical consultants.
- Cyclical programs
- Manage the current Performance Management program in Workday HR. Will require partnering with HR Talent teams across three annual cycles to gather requirements, configure, coordinate testing and meet launch dates.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to identify tools and platforms that could streamline and enhance performance reviews, feedback, and goal setting processes for Bain Capital.
- Evaluate and recommend adoption of new Workday functionality to support process improvement and optimization.
- Create and manage supporting documentation for team administration and resources for HR and stakeholders across Bain Capital.
- Partner with Compensation team to manage compensation cycle configuration, maintenance, and enhancements within our internal compensation system.
- Provide global Workday HCM maintenance & repair support – Activities include, but are not limited to, Workday configuration, business process, security, tenant management, benefits, time tracking, reporting, and integrations. Recommend automation opportunities and process improvements.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understanding of HR from both a technical and business program lens, ability to translate business requirements to system requirements and drive optimal solutions.
- Problem-solving, process improvement, and change management skills with the ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively with strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Ability to work across cross-functional projects and interact with team members at all levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate, build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Strong analytical, presentation and written communication skills.

DESIRED BACKGROUND/EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2-4 years of professional work experience with Workday HR, including but not limited to, business process configuration, conditional logic-based rules and code-based system configurations and validations.
- Hands-on experience in Workday HCM Core, Performance, Benefits, Compensation, Recruiting and Security modules
- Experience using Anaplan, Tableau or Power BI is a plus
