In the Senior Associate, Software Engineer role, you will develop high-quality software solutions that power Pfizer's digital transformation. You will apply modern engineering principles, follow established design patterns, and write clean, maintainable code as part of a large, collaborative team of engineers.
You will work on building scalable applications and services that integrate seamlessly into Pfizer's technology ecosystem, leveraging emerging technologies such as Generative AI and Agentic AI to deliver innovative capabilities. Your contributions will help enable advanced analytics, automation, and intelligent systems that support critical business and manufacturing operations.
Most importantly, you'll use your passion for software engineering and innovation to deliver solutions that create real impact across Pfizer's global network-helping improve efficiency, accelerate insights, and ultimately create breakthroughs that change patient lives.
ROLE RENSPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will:
- Use personal judgment to modify methods and techniques as needed.
- Operate under general supervision, following established procedures and instructions, and solve loosely defined problems.
- Be exposed to GenAI and integrate Agentic AI tools in existing large-scale projects.
- Collaborate with Information Technology partners to set up development, test, and production environments.
- Design and implement application software configurations and systems design for commercial off-the-shelf software products.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team to achieve project goals.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS on Computer Science or any other relevant area with 2+ years of experience or MBA/MS on Computer Science with any years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Information Technology engineering practices.
- Good understanding on Object-Oriented principles.
- Demonstrated capabilities in collaborating effectively within team settings, often in virtual environments.
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience in systems architecture, network systems, and application infrastructure.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex issues and foster consensus among teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with Agentic AI tools including (but not limited to) Azure Foundry, Copilot Studio or similar.
- Understanding Generative AI and most popular models (like GPT, Gemini etc.), on an basic level.
- Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFE).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL and PL/pgSQL for supporting with data migrations.
