As we’re launching Chase bank in Germany, we’re looking for a Senior Associate, Internal Communications to support our Operations business in Berlin as we scale-up.

You’ll be responsible for keeping our customer-facing colleagues and support teams informed and connected so they can deliver outstanding service. The role combines day-to-day channel management and editorial planning with strategic narrative, campaign execution, and leader advisory. 

As a Senior Associate - Internal Communications, Operations in the Operations team, you will work independently in Germany with partnership from UK colleagues, shaping our communications model in a start-up environment and helping ensure Berlin has a presence on our global banking stage. While primarily internal-facing, the role may flex into external communications cover on the ground as needed.


Job Responsibilities

  • Drive internal communications for Operations, translating operational changes and priorities into clear, actionable messages for customer-facing colleagues and support teams.
  • Establish and maintain a disciplined communications rhythm and editorial calendar across core channels (e.g., intranet, email, collaboration platforms) with appropriate governance and approvals.
  • Craft internal narratives and employee campaigns that connect local work to firmwide goals, including service excellence, change initiatives, culture and recognition.
  • Write compelling content spanning banking and industry trends and human-interest features spotlighting colleagues and teams.
  • Provide senior leader advisory on messaging, sequencing and tone; develop talking points and scripts.
  • Plan and deliver town halls and leadership engagement events, including run-of-show, content development, speaker preparation, logistics, and post-event communications.
  • Measure effectiveness of communications (reach, engagement, feedback), report insights, and iterate content and channel strategy for impact.
  • Maintain stakeholder maps, distribution lists, and a single source of truth for narratives, templates, and evergreen content.
  • Ensure message accuracy, consistency of tone, and audience-appropriate localization; support translation and adaptation for local needs.
  • Provide on-the-ground external communications cover in Germany when required, in partnership with relevant corporate communications teams.

 Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Significant experience in communications and/or a degree in a communications-related field.
  • Exceptional German and English writing and editing skills; fluent German and English speaker and writer with the ability to translate content accurately for local audiences.
  • Proven track record translating complex operational or industry topics into clear, engaging narratives for diverse colleague audiences.
  • Experience planning and executing leadership forums and events, including content development and executive preparation.
  • Strong editorial judgment, stakeholder management across multiple seniorities, and disciplined channel governance with measurable outcomes.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities , and skills

  • Previous experience in internal communications is strongly preferred Experience in financial services or a highly regulated industry with familiarity in compliance-aware communications practices.
  • Background in change communications and frontline enablement for customer-facing teams.
  • Exposure to both internal and external communications, with ability to flex between audiences and channels.
  • Digital communications competency, including creating and optimizing content for internal digital channels.
  • Proficiency with collaboration and publishing tools commonly used for enterprise communications.
