As a Senior Associate, Hedge Fund Accounting at SS&C Technologies, Inc., you will be responsible for the accurate and timely NAV calculation and reporting for a portfolio of hedge fund clients. This role involves working closely with clients, managing complex accounting processes, and contributing to the overall success of the fund administration team.

What You Will Get To Do:

• Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly NAV calculations for hedge funds, ensuring accuracy and adherence to fund offering documents.
• Reconcile cash, positions, and trades with prime brokers, custodians, and counterparties.
• Process and review various financial instruments, including equities, fixed income, derivatives (swaps, options, futures), and alternative investments.
• Prepare and review financial statements, investor allocations, and capital statements.
• Interact directly with clients to address inquiries, provide updates, and build strong working relationships.
• Coordinate with auditors and tax professionals during year-end audits and tax filings.
• Assist in the onboarding of new clients and funds, including setting up accounting systems and processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
• Mentor and train junior staff members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and accounting pronouncements relevant to hedge funds.

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CFA designation is a plus.

• 3-5 years of experience in hedge fund accounting, fund administration, or a similar role within financial services.

• Strong understanding of various investment instruments and their accounting treatment (equities, fixed income, derivatives).

• Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Advent Geneva, and strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IFRS.

• Experience with regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., Form PF, AIFMD) is a plus.

Salary Range: $44,000 - $80,000 CAD
