We are looking for a collaborative and motivated professional to join Vena Group's Development & Stakeholders team and help shape the future of renewable energy across Australia. In this role, you will contribute to the development of solar, wind, battery storage and hydrogen projects from early-stage planning through to construction readiness and beyond. Working alongside experienced industry professionals, you will play a key role in securing development approvals, engaging with diverse stakeholders, and providing technical input to support project development and compliance activities. You will collaborate with consultants, government agencies, First Nations groups, landowners and local communities, while helping to manage project budgets, consultant engagements and project schedules. Key Responsibilities:
Support the delivery of robust development approvals, permits and compliance outcomes for renewable energy projects.
Provide planning, development and environmental advice to internal stakeholders.
Undertake due diligence, site investigations and assessments for new development opportunities.
Conduct GIS mapping activities, maintain GIS datasets and support field-based geo-reporting using GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS).
Assist with land access activities and stakeholder engagement processes.
Review and provide input on development considerations for projects undergoing merger and acquisition assessments.
Contribute to technical due diligence and compliance requirements associated with financing and investment processes.
Support the preparation of technical specifications and contractual documentation for construction and operational phases.
Assist Project Managers and Site Managers with environmental and development compliance obligations during construction and operations.
Support cultural heritage activities, including field work, stakeholder engagement and consultation processes.
Participate in industry working groups, policy reviews and relevant industry forums.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders through strong communication and collaboration.
Manage project budgets and consultant engagements, including purchase orders, invoicing and contract administration.
Prepare and evaluate tenders and RFQs, manage consultant deliverables and support funding and grant agreement processes.
Contribute to the delivery of projects throughout the full lifecycle, from early-stage development through construction and operational phases.
Prerequisites:
Bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification in Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Geography or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience managing or supporting development approval processes for large-scale infrastructure or energy projects. Experience in the renewable energy sector is good to have.
Strong knowledge of development and environmental approval frameworks across Eastern Australia.
Understanding of relevant Planning and Environment Acts, regulations and policies, preferably within the states in which Vena Energy operates.
Knowledge of project development risks associated with utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
Strong written communication skills, including the preparation of reports, submissions and technical documentation.
Demonstrated experience engaging and consulting with landowners, communities, government agencies and other key stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively and deliver outcomes within project timelines.
