POSITION PURPOSE:

Working within the corporate accounting and financial reporting group, this position will focus on the accuracy and timeliness of monthly consolidated financial statements with a focus on revenue reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review revenue agreements for proper revenue recognition in accordance with the company’s revenue recognition policies and accounting standards
  • Complete month-end close activities and accurate reporting of key revenue data
  • Prepare and review reconciliations, journal entries, fluxes and other key processes within the revenue close process
  • Work closely and coordinate with fund and property accounting team members to ensure revenue data is received timely and processes are consistent
  • Prepare reporting of employee reimbursements and prepare journal entries and invoices
  • Supervise and review output of third-party service providers
  • Assist in billing and collection of accounts receivable balances
  • Identify and implement improvement initiatives to improve and automate revenue/accounts receivable accounting processes
  • Assist in other monthly accounting close for the corporate entity by performing accounting functions including recording journal entries and charges and receipts, and various account balance reconciliations
  • Assist with external audit and other ad hoc projects, as needed 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)

  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in general accounting; experience in private equity/real estate industry or public accounting preferred
  • Familiarity with US GAAP
  • TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Yardi expertise strongly preferred
  • Superior Microsoft Excel skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Background and general understanding of advisor, fund and investment general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers and job cost reports preferred

  • Ability to identify problems and drive/recommend solutions or improvements to better the team
