Senior Associate, Allocations & Portfolio Compliance - Investment Operations
Job Description
The Investment Operations group within a prestigious credit investment manager is looking to expand. The firm’s private credit businesses have grown significantly over recent years and high caliber talent is needed to help support continued business growth, improve processes, and scale operations. This role would focus on supporting day to day requirements of the investment allocations process for the US Direct Lending business.
Responsibilities:
- Support the investment allocation process for the US Direct Lending business in coordination with deal teams, accounting, operations, and other internal parties
- Develop expertise around the various internal accounts for the US Direct Lending business and the suitability of investments
- Assist deal teams with capacity analyses as they evaluate investment opportunities
- Work with Investor Relations to determine which account guidelines are holding back deployment
- Run pre-trade compliance to determine concentration limits/headroom, sector/country eligibility, etc.
- Oversee the continued systemization builds and enhancements for the allocations process within Ares internal systems
- Perform various data checks to ensure the accuracy of key data points
- Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports and internal communications for various funds and business units
- Communicate regularly with the Deal Teams, Portfolio Managers, Compliance, Legal, Business Development, IT, and Accounting departments
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- 3+ years’ experience in relevant operational areas such as settlements, deal closings, or portfolio compliance
- Strong knowledge of bank loans and credit agreements
- Strong knowledge of alternative credit transactions including privately held investments, bank debt, bonds, CLO equity, and other fixed income products
- Self-motivated and proactive team player who takes ownership and accountability of assigned tasks
- Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to prioritize work and function independently
- Effective articulation with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Comfortability interacting with senior stakeholders across all business groups
- Strong proficiency in Excel

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$120,000 - $135,000
