Role summary: The primary responsibility of this role would be to perform portfolio compliance tasks & managing the day to day of the investment allocation process.
Primary responsibilities:
Responsible for overall daily deliverables across teams, while simultaneously operationalizing and enhancing processes.
Stakeholder Management – To create an environment of trust, confidence & collaboration with global stakeholders.
Build relationships across different teams/internal departments. Act as escalation point.
Assist with overseeing workflows and controls to maintain oversight.
Identify process improvements and participate in the implementation of approved changes.
Recommend controls by identifying problems and contributing to KPI/KRI reporting.
General requirements:
Review portfolio compliance results after overnight holdings load; work with US/UK based portfolio compliance team to address passive breaches
Assist with monitoring portfolio compliance results during London trading day for all the funds
Strong Project management and Business Analyst background preferred.
Manage the investment allocation process for various Ares business groups in coordination with deal teams, accounting, operations, and other internal parties
Run pre-trade compliance to determine concentration limits/headroom, sector/country eligibility, etc.
Work with key partners in all business lines to assist with data management, including, but not limited to: new asset set-up, security reference, credit data, investor data, and portfolio set-up, etc.
Experience required:
More than 6+ years of Relevant work experience
Prior experience with an Alternative Asset, Fixed Income preferred
Experience with Everest & Deal Cloud preferred
Intermediate-level technical skills a bonus (VBA, SQL, Excel, Power BI, etc.)
Experience working with financial intermediaries like investment banks, leverage providers, broker/dealers and Prime Brokers preferred.
Experienced with a diverse set of investment vehicles such as Institutional Separate Accounts, SMA/Limited Partnerships, Open-End Mutual Funds, Closed-End Funds and UCITs, CLOs, and complex fund structures.
Skills / Abilities required:
Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and trends and anticipate horizon issues
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) confident running cross departmental meetings to varied audiences including senior management.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a deadline-intensive environment.
Strong control focus and ability to challenge and streamline processes.
Critical thinker who can act with minimal supervision but seeks advice appropriately.
Strategic orientation so as to ensure the function continues to be positioned as a thoughtful and proactive partner to Senior Management on credit risk management matters and on driving best practices to support safety and soundness in the business space.
Self-starter with the ability to identify an issue, initiate a solution, and see it through to completion.
Ability to make recommendations and provide guidance to effectively advance projects across a globally integrated enterprise.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and exert influence.
Promotes the development of partnerships across teams to solve complex issues and improve performance.
