As a Senior Assistant Accountant in our Land Development team, your responsibilities will include processing all financial transactions for our land development business and its Joint Venture entities, ensure robust financial systems, policies and compliance, and provide essential support to the General Manager Finance. You will play a key part in accurate reporting, forecasting, budgeting and continuous process improvement, making a tangible impact on the financial success of our projects in the land development sector. This role is fixed term role for 18 months based in our Milldale offices in Auckland.
In addition to the above you will:
- Managing the day-to-day finance operations such as AP/AR, invoicing and payment processing
- Complete bank, supplier and internal reconciliation and maintain accurate relevant forecasts
- Support month and year end processes, including preparing internal financial reports
- Ensure NZ tax compliance and maintain fixed-asset register
- Provide finance support and analysis to the GM of Finance and key stakeholders.

We’re looking for someone with:
- 5+ years’ experience in a general accounting role in a complex organisation.
- Experience in a multi-entity environment is highly regarded (JV experience beneficial).
- Strong working knowledge of NZ accounting standards, accounting software and intermediate Excel skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently, take ownership of tasks and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Analytical, proactive and adaptable, with a continuous improvement mindset.
