The Senior Applications Engineer (m/f/d) will play a pivotal role in driving technical demand for Emerson's Test & Measurement (T&M) products for the Portfolio Business Unit.
An ideal candidate possesses extensive technical knowledge and a customer-focused mindset. They will leverage their expertise to demonstrate Emerson's T&M capabilities to clients and prospects, effectively conveying our unique value within the customer and market landscape.
A successful candidate is excellent at listening, learning, and understanding our customers' needs. They are also strong teammates who mentor others in PBU Engineering and foster strong collaboration and partnership with the team and other collaborators.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Engage directly with customers during pre-sales and post-sales phases
- Build positive relationships with key collaborators
- Create, customize, and present Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to demonstrate our solutions and highlight our value proposition for specific customer scenarios
- Leverage technical and industry knowledge to position Emerson's T&M and PBU’s technical capabilities to specific markets prioritized by the business lines through proactive demand generation activities.
- Strong partnership with AMs, BDMs, and Business Lines
- Deliver actionable demand generation proposals informed by a deep technical understanding of targeted markets and mapping Emerson T&M and PBU Technical capabilities to market needs.
- Creation and demonstration of Proof of Concepts and performance benchmarks in
support of large sales opportunities - Develop compelling technical content (whitepapers, app notes, recordings, etc.)
- Collaborate with Marketing to create impactful collateral (PowerPoints and one-pagers, architecture and workflow diagrams)
- Contribute to webinars, workshops, trainings, and industry events
- Define and architect market solutions for reference architectures and demos that can be broadly applicable and leveraged for market or customer-specific applications
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies
- Share insights with the R&D, PBU Engineering, and Product Management teams to shape our roadmaps
For This Role, You Will Need:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline
- Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience
- Hands on use of NI’s hardware (PXI, cDAQ, cRIO, NHR) and software (LabVIEW, TestStand, VeriStand) tools
- Strong understanding of automated test measurement, hardware validation and verification
- Knowledge of Embedded SW testing and model integration into the NI platform
- Strong customer relationship skills to build credibility and explore untapped potential at accounts
- Ability to travel domestically and abroad for customer engagements
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- NI Software certifications, CTD and CLD or higher
- Experience working with customers in any of PBU’s focus areas: Life Science, Electrical Machinery, Energy and Academic
