Senior Application Support Analyst
This position is onsite #LI-Onsite
Are you looking for a role with exposure to multiple platforms and applications, where you can participate in our cloud-based transformation? Reporting to the Manager, Application Operations, you will oversee the daily support and administration of applications. This includes problem analysis, resolution, escalation, reporting and participation in an on-call after-hours rotational support model. Applications include custom developed in-house solutions and those developed by third parties, in addition to different SaaS and cloud solutions.

This is a contract role until December 2026.
About the Role
Support (40%)
- Provide application monitoring, reporting and performance metrics
- Determine risk levels and technical feasibility when making changes to applications
- Facilitate investigations and ensure compliance with set Service level agreements
- Provide 24x7 rotational on-call production support
- Provide root cause analysis for all critical (severity level 1 and 2) issues and define actions to eliminate recurrence
- Maintain environments by applying necessary fix packs/patches/updates
- Demonstrate a strong sense of log analysis and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Conduct/participate in periodic operations review meetings internally and with vendors
- Provide end-to-end support for business-critical systems including mobile apps and web platforms.
Application Implementation (20%)
- Provide technical expertise and participate in application setup, build, configuration, and administration for our applications
- Provide technical support across multiple environments including Production and non-Production (Dev, Test, QA, UAT, and Break-fix)
- Collaborate with numerous teams (Business, Digital, QA, Architecture, and Platform Services) throughout the application lifecycle.
- Implement CI/CD PIPELINES USING Jenkins, JIRA and Bitbucket to support Agile delivery.
Future Planning (15%)
- Provide technical expertise on IT infrastructure planning and engineering
- System capacity planning for application servers, maintenance, and provide support to identify efficiency enhancement routines
- Monitor application and sever performance
- Participate in performance testing and tuning exercises
- Participate in Application and Infrastructure review processes
Deployment Strategy (15%)
- Build deployment strategies for application components
- Help develop deployment and configuration automation scripts
- Provide practical knowledge of automation tools to build and repair environments
- Maintain cloud/on-prem environments; manage deployments, configurations and issue resolutions.
Audit and Compliance (10%)
- Help with compliance audits and remediation of PCI and Security Standards as identified by the business. Support the mitigation of identified audit gaps.
- Participates in quarterly reviews of all applications for PCI and Security
- Responsible for the patching and hardening practices of all applications as per LCBO policies
- Implement DR requirements for all new and changed applications
About You
- Bachelors' degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related experience
- 5 years of experience supporting enterprise level applications
- Experience with Java and .NET application models, REST, Micro-services, APIs
- Understanding of Pega, Kafka and Magento technologies
- Understanding of JavaScript and JS Frameworks (Jquery, DOJO)
- A solid understanding of application performance, security and fundamentals of applications, tools and technologies (Adobe eCommerce Platform, RabbitMQ, Redis, Fastly, New Relic, Kafka, SAP, Blue Yonder, MuleSoft)
- Experience with monitoring tools (Elastic Search, Kibana, Grafana) and source control tools (GIT, Bit Bucket, JIRA)
- Proven experience with automation build and deployment tools and writing custom scripts (Shell, Python, Perl)
- Understanding of DevOps, performance, application security and basic infrastructure fundamentals
