The Opportunity:
The NINJAHIGHWAY team develops and maintains high-quality analytics, running on authoritative data sources to improve service performance, reliability, agility, and scalability. The team provides support to legacy systems while facilitating the transition to new and innovative improvements.
The Senior Application Engineer will work within the Risk Management Authorization organization to facilitate user support and project migration to the AWS cloud environment, to ensure security and compliance consistency across Cloud Service Providers, and to establish procedures to maintain security configurations and controls over time.
Responsibilities:

This specific position is intended to provide senior experience and leadership for the TTO described above

Develop or recommend guidance or measures for cloud-based solutions that ensure compliance with Government security and regulatory requirements such as NIST SP 800-53 security controls

Collaborate with cloud-focused teams across various organizations to design, test, and implement secure, and reliable cloud-based solutions.

Facilitate the creation of procedures and cybersecurity guidance for migrations from legacy cloud environments or hardware environments into AWS

Evaluate cloud security technologies and common services and make recommendation
Qualifications:
Required:
-
4 years minimum experience and a Doctorate’s Degree

6 years minimum experience and a Master’s Degree
-
8 years minimum experience and a Bachelor’s Degree
-
10 years minimum experience and an Associate’s Degree
-
12 years minimum experience and a High School Diploma/GED
-
All experience and education will be in a technical field directly related to the labor category being proposed and all diplomas, GED certificates, and degrees will be from accredited institutions.

Customer-facing skills to drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
-
Experience with cloud computing and virtualization platforms. Specifically, AWS experience is strongly preferred.

Ability to quickly learn and shift in step with the latest cloud-computing, networking, and infrastructure management technologies.

Excellent communication, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
-
Strong knowledge of network architecture and security principles.
-
Knowledge of security and compliance requirements for cloud-based solutions.
Preferred:
-
Commercial Cloud Certification at the Associate level, a specialty, or higher; AWS or Azure are preferred

Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework

Experience with security-focused AWS concepts and services including IAM (Identity Access Management), SCPs (Security Control Policies), Config, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Inspector

Experience with agile software and cloud Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.) and associated scripting and markup languages (YAML, JSON, Python, etc.)

Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as SaltStack, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$102,900 - $216,200
