Team Credo is looking for a Senior Applications Engineer – Digital Signal Processing (DSP) & Communication Systems to join our Optical DSP Application Engineering team. You will play a critical role in release, validation, and system-level reliability of high-speed SerDes DSP products for next-generation AI-driven data centers and hyperscale networks. You will work across the full product stack – from hardware and firmware, to DSP algorithms and automation – while also contributing to a scalable automation and data analysis platform.

Base salary range is $120,000 – $200,000 a year. The base salary offer will depend on factors such as education, experience, training, skills, qualifications, and location. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, equity and a full range of medical and other benefits.

Why Credo

  • Purpose: We invest in what matters. From meaningful-future shaping projects to competitive compensation, we empower you to grow your career while making a lasting impact.
  • People: Connection starts within. We collaborate, celebrate wins, and create an environment where everyone can do their best work.
  • Possibilities: Our belief shapes what’s next. Our technology powers the most reliable and energy-efficient connections around the world – and our team powers new products and markets that come next.

Qualifications

Minimum Expertise – expertise in at least ONE of these areas:

  • High-speed SerDes PHY design, simulation, or validation.
  • DSP / digital communications / communication theory.
  • Wireless communications, analog engineering, or applied physics.

Basic Qualifications

  • A master’s degree or higher is preferred in EE, CE, physics, or a related quantitative field, though candidates with a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience are also encouraged to apply. Strong candidates with other degrees will be considered if they demonstrate depth in communication theory, DSP, or related math. We look for a balance of hands-on experience and solid theoretical fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in data and signal analysis using Python (NumPy, Pandas, Plotly, etc.).
  • Strong algorithmic thinking and structured problem-solving ability.
  • Comfortable with Linux, Git, and Docker.
  • Familiarity with control theory and feedback systems.
  • Ability to read schematics and PCB layouts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Web app or dashboard development (React, TypeScript, Streamlit).
  • Experience with MATLAB, SciPy, Octave, or similar tools.
  • Experience with signal integrity and high-speed channel design.
  • Strong “analog sense” or “physics sense” – intuition for how signals behave in real systems.
  • Team management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities
Who You Are
  • Self starter and high ownership (“the buck stops with me” attitude).
  • Bias toward action – you learn by delivering results.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Curiosity and always learning.
  • Thrives in team environments and navigates cross-functional dependencies well.
  • Ready to teach, coach, and mentor others.

What You'll Do
  • Architect, build, and evolve tools for data capture, experiment design, automated testing, and post-processing analysis.
  • Define and execute test plans to improve product reliability and quality.
  • Identify, root-cause, and resolve system-level issues across firmware, analog/digital hardware, and software.
  • Extend data analysis platforms with new DSP/statistical methods, improved pipelines, and software features.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and cross-functional teams globally.
  • Coordinate and guide team members while working with Application Engineering, FAE, firmware, and design teams.
