Position Summary:
Researches, collects, and reports information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment. Aids in the design and development of equipment and systems, and redesign of existing systems to fulfill the needs of customers. Also providing equipment functionality and capability reports to the sales force and acting as technical liaison to the sales team.
The Application Engineer in the Integration and Automation department is responsible for developing quality software in Java. This requires working in conjunction with business analysts, software architects, and development leads to be sure that what is developed meets the business needs, satisfies all non-functional requirements, and meets team standards.
Requirements:
- Development experience in Java, versions 11 and above.
- Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, particularly Spring Boot.
- Experience writing code tests with tools such as JUnit and Cucumber.
- Experience with messaging and streaming engines like RabbitMQ and Kafka
- Experience programming with JSON.
- Experience in databases such as MS SQL Server, DB2, Couchbase, and Oracle.
- SDLC management through Azure DevOps.
- Source code control and DevOps using GitHub.
- Understanding of Service Oriented, Microservice and Event based Architectures principles
- Experience with container platforms like Kubernetes preferred.
- Ability to operate and communicate effectively within deadlines
- Experience as an effective member of teams
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- 4+ years of full time software developer
- Honesty/integrity. Strong work ethic.
- Strong experience with Java in a production environment. Containerized experience a plus.
- Able to work well within a team and accept direction from more senior staff.
