Experian invests in people and new advanced technologies to unlock the power of data. We have an amazing team of 25,200 people in 32 countries.
Job DescriptionWe're looking for a hands-on engineer to help modernize business-critical applications and move legacy Windows-based .NET workloads into scalable, secure services on AWS EKS. You’ll work closely with application, database, platform, security, and operations teams to simplify how applications run, improve PostgreSQL performance, strengthen monitoring and alerting, and automate infrastructure delivery — and bring a curiosity about AI, automation, and cloud-native engineering into practical, responsible improvements for the team.
Location
At Experian, we believe great work happens when people come together. We're focused on attracting talent in and around our designated hub locations who are open to collaborating with colleagues in person. Aligning employees to these talent markets helps foster collaboration, strengthen team connections, and support long-term career growth within Experian. You will report to the Director of Cloud Engineering, and reside in or near one of our collaboration hubs:
Costa Mesa, CA; San Jose, CA; Allen, TX; Austin, TX; Franklin, TN; New York, NY; Schaumberg, IL; Washington, D.C.; Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Seattle, WA
You will have opportunity to:
- Help migrate and modernize Windows-based .NET applications into containerized services running on AWS EKS, designing and supporting Kubernetes deployments built for reliability, scalability, and security.
- Tune PostgreSQL performance — stored procedures, functions, queries, and indexes — partnering with application and DBA teams to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Build and improve monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational runbooks using tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and CloudWatch.
- Support application security needs, including vulnerability remediation, patching, secure configuration, and compliance-related follow-up.
- Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt, with an emphasis on repeatable, maintainable delivery.
- Partner with DevOps and platform teams on CI/CD, release support, environment provisioning, and production deployments.
- Troubleshoot issues spanning application, infrastructure, database, networking, security, and observability layers.
- Balance multiple workstreams at once, keeping priorities clear and driving steady progress toward delivery commitments.
- 8+ years' hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and application modernization, including migrating Windows-based .NET applications into containers (AWS EKS or Kubernetes preferred).
- Working knowledge of core Kubernetes concepts — pods, deployments, services, ingress, config maps, secrets, resource management, and troubleshooting.
- Experience tuning PostgreSQL workloads, including stored procedures, functions, indexes, execution plans, and queries.
- Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and CloudWatch.
- Experience remediating application security findings and supporting secure deployment practices.
- Experience building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt.
- Experience working in Agile, DevOps, or platform engineering environments with CI/CD and automated deployments.
- Reside in, or near the designated Collaboration Hub(s) for this role.
