Your Mission
Are you passionate about sales and business development and looking to join a global company that is transforming the industry with cutting‑edge technology? ABB is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to act as the technical promoter for medium‑voltage electrical machines, ensuring excellent customer support and providing sales teams with strong technical backing in promoting our solutions.
In this role, you will support both the commercial team and customers throughout the entire sales cycle, adapting ABB products to customer applications to meet their needs and specifications. On a daily basis, you will select the most suitable technologies and products for each application and serve as a key technical resource for the designated business area. You will also leverage your expertise to identify and cultivate new business opportunities through active prospecting and networking.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a technical reference for customers and the sales team, providing guidance on the selection, application, and customization of medium‑voltage motors and generators.
Conduct technical visits to assess customer needs, identify opportunities, follow up on applications, and gather technical feedback.
Support the sales team in promoting products and solutions by delivering technical presentations, training sessions, demonstrations, and participating in events and trade shows.
Prepare and follow up on technical proposals in collaboration with the commercial team, ensuring accuracy of technical information and effectively promoting ABB’s value proposition.
Monitor competitors, market trends, and specific industry demands while acting as a technical‑commercial consultant to recommend customized solutions.
Record activities, opportunities, and customer interactions in internal systems (Salesforce) and ensure compliance with safety standards and corporate procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Electrotechnics.
Solid experience working with customized medium‑voltage electrical machines.
Previous experience in similar roles involving technical promotion or market development.
Availability for frequent travel and field activities is required.
“Hunter” profile, with strong skills in prospecting and developing new customers.
Desirable: experience with variable frequency drives and drive systems.
Desirable: Advanced English skills for reading, writing, and conversation.
