About the Role:
We're searching for a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join Remitly’s Finance team, reporting to our AP Lead under the Accounting Operations function. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual contributor with a bias for action who is excited by the opportunity to make a big impact in a fast-paced and dynamically growing
Company.

You Will:

• Perform payment processing for global vendors, disbursements, customer refunds, taxes, and reimbursements.
• Ensure payables are processed accurately and on time across multiple subsidiaries and currencies while adhering to departmental procedures.
• Prepare and submit weekly Payment Register summaries to the Treasury team for cash forecasting purposes.
• Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding payment related matters.
• Conduct cash account reconciliations by comparing incoming and outgoing bank transactions with accounting records.
• Support month end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting tasks.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations (BSRs) to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Set individual goals and manage workload with minimal supervision.
• Work independently while collaborating with cross functional teams.
• Identify and implement process improvements, manage small to medium projects, and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Make sound decisions, proactively solve problems, and recommend solutions that improve financial operations and team efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the Global AP Team and organizational objectives.

You Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field

• At least 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Specialist role
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system is an advantage
• Experience handling various payment methods is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• High attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
