ASM is the air route development, expertise, intelligence and data brand within the Aviation Week Network of Informa
ASM sits alongside a number of other world leading brands within the Air Transport market community group within Aviation Week Network. In particular, Routes, CAPA, Air Transport World and Global Airport Development (GAD).
In this setting we collaborate closely with these brands, providing internal expertise and driving synergies across business, product and strategy development.
This role is ideal for someone with a year or two of experience at an airport/airline who wants to make a move into consultancy (or for an exceptional recent graduate)
Job Description
- Assist ASM’s global consultant network with data and analysis needs, ensuring best practices and usable outputs.
- Develop working relationships with ASM clients, providing an additional contact point alongside the lead consultant.
- Initiate new analytics techniques, platform usage, and explore new data sources to enhance existing products and develop new ones.
- Conduct detailed market research and analysis, including demographic and industry statistics, to identify target markets and airline opportunities.
- Create business case presentations for target airlines, incorporating comprehensive data and analytics to support client objectives.
- Perform market share, stimulation, competitor analysis, catchment analysis, and other metrics to inform client strategies.
- Operate, improve, and maintain ASM’s forecasting models, consolidating and interpreting data across platforms.
- Support long-term traffic forecasting projects, providing input for short-term airline strategies and long-term market analysis.
- Lead and participate in customer insight calls with airlines to understand market opinions and development strategies.
- Provide market insights to sister businesses like Routes, CAPA, and Aviation Week Network.
- Contribute to speaker and content delivery at industry conferences and forums.
- Commercial Documents: Help produce commercial bid documents and RFP responses and engage in business retention and new business activities.
- Oversee the creation and delivery of relevant training content.
- Manage direct reports and project teams for client services and new product development.
- Be proficient in third-party data tools (e.g., Sabre Market Intelligence, OAG), and recommend new tools to add value to ASM.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Proven application of professional knowledge within airport, airline, or consultancy environments.
- In-depth knowledge of the aviation industry, including new air service development and the significance of data-driven business cases for airline decisions.
- Strong communicator with a proactive approach, eager to learn new skills and explore international markets.
- Confident in handling large data sets, proficient in advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint, familiar with Power BI, and knowledgeable about other data manipulation and presentation tools.
- Strong in analysis, problem-solving, planning, and creativity, with the ability to present and visualize data effectively to teams or clients.
- Skilled in quantitative and statistical research and analysis methods for solving commercial challenges.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Open to domestic and international travel as needed.
- Experienced in working with and within a budget.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines with attention to detail under pressure.
- Demonstrated experience in problem-solving.
- Possession of a relevant bachelor's degree to bring specialized knowledge and skills to the role.
