Job DescriptionABOUT WISE PLATFORM
Wise Platform takes all of the world-class payments products Wise has built over the last 15 years and enables hundreds of millions of consumers and businesses to access them in the places where they already move and manage their money - with banks and large tech platforms.
Today, we’re already powering payments for some of the world’s top neobanks like Monzo, N26, and Nubank, alongside a growing list of leading global banks such as UniCredit, Morgan Stanley and Standard Chartered, to name a few. In the tech platforms space, we’re powering payments for partners across a whole range of industry verticals and use cases. Whether that’s leading marketplaces like Google, Agoda, or Upwork, workforce management tools like Deel, or investment platforms like Interactive Brokers - we’re bringing the power, simplicity, and transparency of Wise to even more people and places.
And, we’re just getting started! Wise Platform is one of the newest and fastest growing products at Wise. We’re a global and highly cross-functional team, spearheading Wise next phase of growth!
THE ROLE
We're looking for a Senior Analyst to spearhead the way we identify, manage and mitigate risks in Wise Platform. As we continue to scale our products to more enterprise partners, we’re continuously investing in new controls, processes and capabilities to keep our enterprise products safe, compliant and fit-for-the-future. This role will be focussed on proactively identifying compliance gaps, creating transaction monitoring rules to identify suspicious activity, and building out reporting that demonstrates our effectiveness in preventing financial crime. To achieve this, you will partner with Product, Product Compliance, Fincrime (Fraud, Screening and AML), KYC, and Business Operations teams to proactively identify and mitigate new and emerging risks.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
You will conduct exploratory data analysis to inform, develop and fine tune our controls, maximising their effectiveness and precision to detect and prevent suspicious activity occurring on our platform.
You will set up standardised processes for tuning the thresholds of our transaction monitoring rules, to ensure they are sufficiently accurate whilst not overburdening our Operations teams.
You will work closely with our Partner Risk Monitoring (PRM) team to ensure they have the tools they need to monitor emerging partner risks and ensure that all partner activity is within our risk appetite
You will contribute to our Financial Crime reporting and analysis in Wise Platform, defining and maintaining Fincrime KRIs, performing deep dives and making recommendations to enable us to effectively monitor and mitigate partner risks.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
You are proficient with SQL and know your way around data pipeline management tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Git, Airflow, Python, and Lightdash. You're comfortable owning analytics from data transformation through to delivering actionable insights.
You are solution-oriented and able to own projects from start to finish. You are comfortable motivating stakeholders across Wise and negotiating timelines to unblock yourself and make things happen!
You are an excellent communicator, able to form your own opinions and effectively articulate them to influence key stakeholders. You should also be comfortable writing and maintaining clear and concise documentation and analysis.
You’re an expert at crafting dashboards and visualisations that bring data to life, tell a story and have diagnostic power - even better if you’ve got experience doing this in Lightdash/Superset.
You are commercially minded. You are comfortable with opportunity sizing, have solid experience forecasting and scenario modelling.
