How you’ll make an impact


This is a senior individual contributor role and will be critical to ensuring our Strategy & Operations leaders are enabled to get the right things done through decision making grounded in analytics.

You will be responsible for leading and contributing to high-impact analytics projects to support improved decision making for senior leaders across Strategy & Operations. The role will be tasked with generating pan-Xero insights, bringing together multiple data sources in a cohesive way to aid in the most strategically important decisions and require you to align closely with a wide variety of stakeholders across the globe.

Working on projects with an Analytics Lead and other Senior Analysts, this is a hands-on analytics role that will require you to develop a strong understanding of customer and business needs across multiple contexts and geographies, then apply first class insights/analytics skills to meet those needs.



What you’ll do


- Contribute significantly to and lead the execution of ‘last mile’ analytics, developing analytical models and performing deep dives that convert data into actionable insights.

- Alongside the analytics Lead, support key decision makers using data in a simple and effective way, with world class storytelling and data visualisation skills to inform better decision making from non-technical stakeholders.

- Build a deep knowledge across multiple data domains. Insights and analytics outcomes will include but not be limited to: Deliver Quantitative analysis to aid Xero-wide Strategy process Help drive the Monitoring of OKRs for Xero and setting company-level operational KPIs

- Identify and monitor metrics for external communications (e.g. investors, media)

- Create cross-portfolio (e.g. Strategy Finance-Revops) metrics and reporting.

-Provide decision support for Pricing and Packaging decisions, connecting product usage to packaging decisions to step change how we commercialise our product.

-Contribute to roadmap development and backlog of work, including participating and on occasions leading sessions to understand, clarify and document business requirements.

-Help advocate for the prioritisation of your initiatives within our team & with external stakeholders.

-Where appropriate, use data science to apply advanced analytics and statistical techniques to provide recommendations, forecasts and optimisations.

-Develop a strong, growing understanding of the potential commercial return of Xero’s product investments, and ensure this is accurately fed into our regional GTM plans as they evolve

- Works collaboratively across multiple teams. Builds strong relationships with our central data teams and other analytics groups at Xero



Critical competencies


- Technical Mastery level in SQL for data extraction, manipulation and analysis

- Comfortable working with complex and diverse datasets

- Proficiency in Tableau and other modern BI tools

- Previous experience with statistical statistical approaches to analysis

- Experience with statistical languages such as Python beneficial

- Non-technical Commercial mindset, and understanding of SaaS business models

- Strong communication and data storytelling skills, with the ability to interact with and influence varied stakeholders both non-technical and technical

- Ability to collaborate with global, cross functional teams

- Can work with ambiguity and make progress despite incomplete information or unclear objectives.

- Competent at capturing and interpreting business requirements

Ability to work in a team to influence outcomes without direct authority



Experience


- 5+ years or more experience in analytics or SaaS, in a stakeholder facing capacity or as a technical practitioner.

- Demonstrated aptitude to learn and apply skills to new context quickly

- Experienced in delivering analytics in the form of interactive dashboards

- Experienced in applying analytics techniques and statistical methodologies

- Experience across cloud data platforms, is highly desirable. eg. Snowflake / DBT

- Demonstrated experience innovating with data and analytics to create value.
