The Role:
To support the rapid business growth and increasing regulatory obligations of Airwallex's international business, we're seeking a talented and motivated individual with strong analytical and operational skills to join our Reporting Operations team in Singapore or Malaysia. This role will work closely with our global stakeholders to ensure our regulatory submissions are accurate, compliant and timely across multiple jurisdictions. Reporting Ops participates in designing and operating end-to-end regulatory reporting processes, enhancing data and control frameworks, and driving automation to support cross-functional teams globally.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute end-to-end regulatory reporting cycles for assigned jurisdictions: collect and validate input data, perform reconciliations and reasonableness checks, prepare reporting files and documentation, and coordinate timely submission to regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Perform in-depth analysis on reporting data and early and proper escalation for exceptions; support to identify root causes for discrepancies or data quality issues, work with relevant teams to drive remediation, and continuously refine controls and monitoring to reduce operational and reporting risk.
- Detect opportunities to streamline and automate regulatory reporting workflows and controls; partner with relevant teams to improve data pipelines, dashboards and tools, and provide practical suggestions to stakeholders on process optimisation
- Collaborate with stakeholders, team members and subject matter experts (SMEs) in Global Legal, Risk Compliance, Finance, Data, Product and Operations to translate regulatory requirements into clear reporting rules and standard operating procedures, improving reporting accuracy, completeness and compliance
- Support regulatory change, audits and reviews by assessing reporting impact, updating documentation and controls, and preparing clear explanations and evidence packs for regulators and internal governance forums.
- Contribute to building and maintaining a central regulatory reporting calendar, metrics and dashboards to track reporting timeliness, quality and incident trends, enabling continuous improvement of Reporting Ops.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above, with at least 2 years of relevant working experience in regulatory reporting, risk and financial operations, financial reporting, compliance, or data/analytics roles.
- Experience in payments, banking, and other related regulated financial services is preferred.
- Strong analytical and data skills; proficiency in Excel; experience using SQL or similar tools for data querying, validation and investigation. Experience with reporting systems, data pipelines or BI / visualisation tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and control mindset, with proven ability to manage multiple deadlines, navigate complex requirements, and deliver accurate outputs under time pressure.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capability; able to work closely with Global Legal, Risk and Compliance and cross-functional teams across regions.
- Proficiency in English; Good reading and writing skills in Mandarin is a plus; able to adapt to a global and cross-cultural working environment.
