The Sr. Analyst, Renewable Energy Solutions will provide research, analysis, and project management activities to support the deployment of the Company’s utility scale Renewable Energy solutions in North America, which include Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPA), Transferable Tax Credits (TTC) and Long-term Structured REC advisory solutions. 

Primary Responsibilities

The Sr. Analyst, Renewable Energy Solutions, will be the face of WK’s North America Renewable Energy Solutions groups utility scale renewable business with the client. They will work with the internal origination and sales teams to educate and sell customers on VPPAs, TTCs and Long-term Structured RECs. They will then support in the delivery and development of customer mandates and services within the offering. The position plays an important role in closing deals, and the delivery of renewable energy products and services related to utility scale renewable energy projects.

This position manages programs and assignments with new and existing World Kinect C&I Customers, being an internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) on VPPAs, TTCs and Long-term Structured RECs for the sales team, ensuring timely delivery, stakeholder alignment and effective coordination and coherence of services, and enabling successful execution of customer contracts.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as an internal SME on VPPAs, TTCs and Long-term Structured RECs and other utility scale renewable energy solutions for the origination and sales team
  • Engage with customers early, and support all external stakeholder engagement
  • Deliver the design of customer mandates, and products and services, including scope of work, schedule and deliverables
  • Support outside marketing efforts for our team, lead in creation of customer materials.
    • Create professional, elegant presentations and written copy.
    • Coordinate marketing campaigns with internal teams, including content creation, social media management, email marketing, and advertising efforts.
    • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitor activities.
  • Provide administrative support to various departments, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and organizing documents, and internal digital files.
  • Support the negotiation and execution of enabling agreements between customers and developers of World Kinect utility scale renewable energy solutions
  • Manage work plans & timelines for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Track and report on delivery and performance against program schedules and design.
  • Review and assess project delivery risks, develop mitigation plans to mitigate risks and identify opportunities for additional client support and/or products and services.
  • Support project teams and day-to-day management of the client relationship.
  • Support business development and commercial activities where required, providing expertise and input to customer proposals.
  • Show presence and confidence in managing programs and engaging with the most senior levels of corporate, governmental and institutional customers.
  • Collaborate with team leadership and other internal stakeholders.
  • Be accountable for Customer success, delivery excellence and program performance.
  • Maintain knowledge of Renewable Energy market trends, opportunities and new technologies and applying a customer lens and viewpoint.
  • Support Salesforce engagement and CRM opportunity and task management

BACKGROUND AND SKILLS:

Essential:

  • Excellent communications skills (written, verbal and presentation)
  • 2+ years of energy or renewable energy experience [solar PV, onshore or offshore wind and other technologies]. 
  • 1+ years experience with project development, project finance, corporate PPA’s and/or Corporate Energy procurement.
  • 1+ years experience negotiating power purchase agreements, ideally both physical and financial contracts for differences, for example “Virtual Power Purchase Agreements”
  • Strong understanding of environmental attributes, aka “Renewable Energy Certificates” (RECs), including value and markets
  • Excellent understanding of renewable energy incentives and regulatory structures. 
  • Broad technical understanding of energy systems and renewable energy technologies, and ability to assess new renewable energy technologies and complementary technologies to identify new opportunities
  • Outstanding project management skills, including experience with appropriate software tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver meaningful business results with minimal supervision
  • General business and financial acumen and substantive evidence of customer-service orientation
  • Effective team player who excels at performing in a collaborative environment
  • Capability to both work alone and as part of a dynamic team, as required
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationally

Desirable:

  • Bachelors or Master degree in Business, Legal, Engineering, Finance or Sustainability or similar
  • Deep knowledge of Renewable Energy Project Finance, Tax and/or Accounting
  • Knowledge of Transferable Tax Credits or Tax Equity
  • Salesforce or other CRM experience
