On Marketing Strategy & Operations, we work across marketing channels and frequently interface with marketing leadership. We own the learning agenda, performance tracking / reporting, forecasting, target setting, and ad hoc insights generation for the global Marketing organization. We partner closely with Marketing channel teams, Marketing Data Science, Marketing Data Engineering, and Finance as part of our remit.
In this role as a Senior Analyst, you will own Marketing’s ad spend forecast modeling and contribute to performance tracking of key financial and performance metrics. Your work will directly contribute to Wayfair Marketing’s ambitious growth and brand-building goals on a global scale. You are highly analytical, data driven, detail oriented, comfortable dealing with ambiguity and effective in balancing multiple priorities.
What You'll Do
- Serve as an expert on overall marketing performance and strategy for Wayfair.com and being the point-person for topics related to Wayfair’s >$1 billion in ad spend
- Own the ad spend forecast and budget model for Marketing, with a focus on the Wayfair US business
- Conduct root cause analyses and leverage cross-team partnerships to quickly identify performance issues or variances to forecast and recommended actions for our marketers to execute against
- Leverage our vast datasets to build proofs of concept and perform exploratory data analysis
- Work on cross-brand / cross-geo initiatives to build capabilities that will benefit all Marketing teams
- Work collaboratively on projects with cross-functional groups, including Analytics, Finance, Pricing, Data Science and Data Engineering
- Develop new analyses and processes to support the ongoing management of ad spend and efficiency, helping steer towards goals for global Marketing financial outcomes
- Know the numbers behind Marketing’s spend and efficiency inside and out; work directly with channel leads to ensure outcomes are aligned with the overall strategy
What You’ll Need
- 3+ years of experience working in a quantitative field or a degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering
- Proficient with Excel and Google Sheets (pivot tables, vlookup, etc.) and data visualization tools (i.e. Looker / DataStudio)
- Excellent analytical skills with experience turning complex and disparate data sets into business strategy (experience in building and adapting financial models is a plus)
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with demonstrated experience effectively working with and influencing senior level and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong intrinsic problem solving skills, ability to structure and solve problems and conduct and interpret analysis independently
- Ability to identify value and prioritize work while collaborating with multiple stakeholders with competing priorities
- An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment with a dynamic bias for action
