Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Market Intelligence, the Senior Analyst is responsible for developing strategic client insights, competitive analyses, and market intelligence that drive business development and marketing effectiveness across the firm, with emphasis on in-depth analyses to support mergers and acquisitions (M&A) strategy. This role is cross-functional with business development, marketing, and industry teams to identify growth opportunities and optimize client acquisition strategies.
The Senior Analyst position requires a detail-oriented, strategically minded individual with strong technical skills in data analysis and visualization, who can effectively translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders with a deep understanding of professional services industry dynamics.
Technology skills, Competencies and Experience:
Education & Experience:
- Master's degree in business administration (analytics/business intelligence focus) OR Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of progressive business/market intelligence experience in professional services environment.
- 6-9 years of experience in business/market intelligence roles, with strong skills in M&A research and market/acquisition evaluation.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including Power Query and automation techniques.
- M&A research platforms experience (e.g., PitchBook, CapIQ, or similar databases) for target identification and market analysis.
- PowerPoint skills for creating strategic presentations and visual summaries.
- Comfort working with qualitative and quantitative data.
- Ability to build market and industry maps and frameworks to evaluate and compare potential acquisition targets
- Professional services industry knowledge with an understanding of consulting business models and competitive dynamics.

- Intent data platforms experience (Bombora) and prospecting tools expertise (ZoomInfo, Sales Navigator, etc.).
- Microsoft Dynamics D365 with custom reporting and CRM analytics capabilities.
- Generative AI tools experience, including MS Copilot and Copilot Studio for agent development and task automation.
Role and Responsibilities:
Market Intelligence
- Conduct comprehensive M&A market research to identify industry trends, emerging opportunities, competitive dynamics, and M&A activity to inform strategic decision-making and planning.
- Support target identification and screening processes by evaluating strategic fit, market positioning, and developing detailed company profiles, including ownership structure, capabilities, and strategic assessments.
- Develop market models, including market sizing (TAM, SAM), revenue band analysis, and competitive landscape assessments to inform M&A activities, partnerships, and other growth strategies.
- Support ad hoc growth data requirements as needed, potentially including post-acquisition data migration support, data matching for client and prospect lists, client base analysis and other similar projects.
- Design and generate comprehensive client insight reports, and ideal client profile analyses to support targeted business development initiatives.
- Generate key collateral to support sales, including general and customized analysis of sector-specific themes and insights.
- Lead discovery work to assess campaign/initiative feasibility, identify optimal target audiences, and recommend strategic focus areas for growth initiatives.
- Perform detailed market intent analyses using Bombora and similar platforms to identify high-potential prospects and market opportunities.
Research & Data Analysis
- Manage and integrate diverse data sources (e.g., Workday, Microsoft D365, ZoomInfo, Bombora, Pitchbook, Cap IQ, etc.) to produce clear executive summaries and actionable business intelligence that transforms raw data into meaningful strategic insights.
- Ensure data quality and integrity across multiple data sources, implementing governance practices for market intelligence analysis.
- Work cross-functionally to manage project flow within the team and for key stakeholders.
Strategic Communication & Collaboration
- Translate complex analytical findings into compelling presentations and strategic recommendations for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Partner with business development and marketing teams to understand information needs and deliver maximum-value analysis and deliverables.
- Collaborate with industry practice leaders to provide customized intelligence relevant to specific markets and client segments.
Build relationships across the organization to understand strategic objectives and align analytical outputs with business priorities
