IT Network & Telecommunications designs, operates and maintains the organization's local and wide area networks and telecommunications systems and manages relationships with telecommunications service and maintenance vendors. This job family evaluates existing network systems and develops long-term strategies to ensure network capacity meets current and future network requirements. IT Network & Telecommunications performs technical analyses of software, hardware, and network systems as well as systems engineering for front-end processors, multiplexors, LAN/WAN communications, network nodes, switches, and various transmission systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Requires general knowledge of network hardware, software and LAN/WAN connectivity

  • Demonstrates an understanding of networking concepts and systems including routing, switching, WAN/LAN, WLANs, Cisco & HP network devices

  • Demonstrated an understanding of network security concepts and systems including F5, WSA, Palo Alto, ASA

  • First responder for troubleshooting network infrastructure including routers, switches, wireless AP’s, including controllers, voice gateways, firewalls, and context switching as break/fix or enhancement requests

  • Fixes intermediate network issues

  • Maintains a variety of documentation: including operation’s procedures (SOP), run sheets, shift turnover.

  • Consults with senior team members and supervisor on complex and unusual problems

  • Works across IT teams to resolve issues

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Business or related field preferred or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience preffered

  • Technical certifications are a plus

  • Proficient PC skills; including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills

  • Ability to utilize monitoring tools to analyze network consumption at sites

  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues as they arise

  • Knowledge in Aruba wireless platform is desired

  • Strong oral communication and writing skills

  • Knowledge with utilizing Microsoft Teams

  • AWS and Google cloud platform experience is a plus

Anticipated hourly range: $33 - $47.10/hr
