The role is responsible to manage the AMEA Exports monthly accounting activities, manage an efficient and effective internal environment to ensure compliance with Mondelez financial reporting requirements and manage the Trade Expenditure, A&C and Overheads budget. In addition, this role is responsible for leading any projects related to business integration and expansion into AMEA Exports.
Financial Controlling

  • Own the monthly financial close process by working closely with the cross functional teams to ensure correct spend accruals are booked for Trade Expenditure, A&C and Overheads.
  • Ensure all additional accruals on top of the approved AC budget has the right approvals
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared on a monthly basis and reviewed by Commercial Finance Manager. Collaborate with cross functional team to ensure all accruals are reversed in a timely manner.
  • Build effective relationships with the Mondelez International Holdings (MIH) Accounting team / MIAPL Accounting team to ensure timely reporting in accordance with US GAAP requirements and principles.
  • Deliver all reporting requirements related to month and quarter end close such as Revenue Recognition Checklist, Internal Controls GSD and A&C Review templates.
  • Simplify complex processes without impacting compliance expectations.


Internal Controls

  • Establish an environment of efficient and effective Internal Controls to:
    • Ensure controls remain in place and are adapted to the Company's changing business processes
    • Optimize and safeguard company assets
    • Ensure the reliability of financial statements in compliance with Mondelez policies and procedures and statutory requirements
  • Monthly review of claims vs accruals to ensure all under-accruals/unapproved budget claims are identified and highlighted to management.
  • Single point of contact for all Internal Controls and external audits.


Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting

  • Manage the Trade Expenditure, A&C and Overheads budget through efficient allocation on budgets to Business Development Managers/ Distributors (Trade Expenditure and A&C) and functions (Overheads). Track actuals vs budget for these 2 P&L lines and highlight opportunities and risks to Management.
  • Review Trade Expenditure, A&C and Overheads actuals with Exports GM on a quarterly basis.


Projects

  • Lead all strategic projects for the Finance stream that involve business integration and business expansion into AMEA Exports. Ensure new business adheres to the system, process and compliance requirements of AMEA Exports and MIAPL.


Personnel Management

  • Setting KPIs, training and leading a subordinate or contractor to deliver the goals.
