We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to support daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records. The successful candidate will perform account reconciliations, prepare balancing reports, post accounting entries, process invoices, support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, and assist with audit and variance analysis requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare daily balancing reports and verify the completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Review balance sheet accounts and supporting schedules to identify unusual or outstanding items.
- Prepare and post daily accounting entries with appropriate documentation and approvals.
- Record accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions accurately and on time.
- Process invoices, verify supporting documentation, apply appropriate coding, and route items for approval.
- Balance and verify internal and intercompany accounts, resolving differences in coordination with relevant teams.
- Prepare and respond to audit confirmation requests and provide supporting records for internal and external audits.
- Prepare variance analysis reports, explain significant movements, and escalate unresolved issues.
- Maintain organized accounting records and comply with established policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice processing.
- Working knowledge of general ledger processes, balance sheet accounts, and fundamental accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or enterprise resource planning systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to meeting daily deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high-volume or deadline-driven accounting environment.
- Experience supporting internal or external audits and preparing variance explanations.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data analysis.
- Experience with intercompany or internal account balancing.
