The Role

C.H. Robinson is seeking an Air Import Operations Executive (Senior Global Forwarding Agent) to join our operations team in Penang, Malaysia. The Senior Global Forwarding Agent (GFA) will be the primary point of contact for their assigned customer accounts, managing the full shipment lifecycle to ensure accuracy and efficiency in meeting customer requirements. You’ll work closely with customers from the initiation of shipments through to completion, overseeing all related tasks, maintaining daily communication, managing reporting, and handling emails.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

Operational Execution:

  • End-to-end coordination of air import shipments (Freehand & Nomination)

  • Registration of shipments into the forwarding system Navisphere on time and accurately

  • Monitor flight schedules, cargo arrivals, and promptly resolve any discrepancies

  • Coordinate effectively with gateway, warehouse, clearance teams, and customers

  • Prepare and submit import customs documentation in compliance with regulations

  • Prepare accurate invoices, verify vendor and agent costs, and ensure timely and accurate billing

Facilitate Relationships:

  • Build strong relationships with customers by responding promptly and following up on issue resolution

  • Communicate clearly, timely, and effectively with customers, agents, CHR offices, and outside vendors

  • Promote and maintain a positive working relationship among all team members

  • Escalate issues as needed and actively support continuous improvement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • High school diploma or bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum 2–3 years of freight forwarding experience, including 1+ years in air import or export operations

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Able to converse in English and Bahasa Malaysia

Preferred:

  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or related field

  • Basic knowledge or coursework in supply chain and customs procedures, including customs clearance and bonded transport

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
