Enbridge is seeking a Senior Safety Advisor to champion and support the implementation of our Safety Management System (SMS) across our Business Unit operations. This role is essential in driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance, and enhancing operational safety performance through strategic leadership, technical expertise, and collaborative engagement with internal and external collaborators.

What You Will Do:

  • Program Implementation: Lead the rollout of new or updated SMS elements and occupational health and safety programs.

  • Essential Communication: Develop and deliver safety communications and plans tailored to the region, including SOAP and long-term safety priorities

  • Data Analysis: Analyze safety data trends and generate reports to inform continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Training and Development: Contribute to the development and delivery of safety training programs.

  • Incident Management: Support incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action processes.

  • Lead and Mentor: Coach and support regional leadership and safety representatives in completing safety responsibilities.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in safety advisory roles, preferably in the energy or industrial sector. For candidates who do not possess a university degree, an additional 3-years of experience is required (total 9+ years).

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, enabling effective partnership with internal and external collaborators at all levels.

  • Highly organized and adaptable, capable of working independently and collaboratively while managing uncertainty and learning quickly in dynamic environments.

  • Certified Safety Professional / Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation or other Professional Board Certification is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires time spent both outdoors and inside an office setting.

  • Occasional travel (10%). Ability to travel throughout Canada and United States. Valid passport is required.

  • A valid driver's license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required which will be validated before hire. 

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
 

Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Base Salary: 

  • Base salary ranges from $100,000 – $135,000 CAD for Ontario locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.  (For Ontario only posting) 

  • Base salary ranges from $100,000 – $135,000 USD for US locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity. (For all US based roles) 

  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
